VIRTUAL REALITY: SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES

The development of virtual reality (VR) technologies offers high expectations for growth in the coming years. massive increase use environments will lead to a consumption resources, making it necessary ensure their sustainability. Taking this scenario into account, paper focuses on analyzing and comparing sustainability two variants VR, immersive (IVR) non-immersive (NIVR). To achieve goal, different areas sustainable that are influenced by these have been identified (economy, society environment). From results obtained, can be stated VR technology is advantageous all three analyzed from main points view: (i) as an emerging allows energy costs reduced encourage economic activity with low environmental impact; (ii) teaching resource higher education, such engineering, because design dynamic interactive learning environments, which facilitate understanding certain concepts.
